There are anywhere between 3.5 and 4 million active podcasts currently indexed and 30,000 are being launched…daily! In this type of environment, how can YOU really be heard? Before you start to think about growing your podcast audience, how can you create more connection with your existing followers?
We’re elated to announce The Podcast Study: Growth, done in partnership with Point to Point Marketing. We’ve also been invited to step onto the keynote stage to give the first reveal of the key findings at Podcast Movement in Dallas on Wednesday, August 20th at 12:15pm. Podcast Movement is the definitive podcast conference in North America.
The Podcast Study isn’t just another study looking at downloads and demos. We wanted to create a different focus to this study, so podcasters can learn critically important information about how listeners discover new podcasts and what engages listeners to podcast and what them lose interest.
The Podcast Study also has valuable take-aways for radio broadcasters. In future posts, webinars and on ThePodcastStudy.com, we’ll connect how what we learn about podcast consumers relates to linear broadcasts.
We’ll help you build or refine your playbook by digging into:
- How long consumers will give a podcast before pressing stop?
- WHY does a viewer/listener press ‘stop’?
- What execution tactics are most important at the beginning of the podcast?
- Are people actively watching/listening to the podcast?
- What is the ideal length of a podcast?
- What is the real meaning of Word of Mouth? Everyone says WOM is key, but which kinds actually work? Friends? Social influencers?
- Is there a role for contesting along with events and merchandising?
- What can be done today to make a podcast stronger?
We are excited to give podcasters important information that will help make them more effective, whether you’re doing your own single podcast or you manage a network of podcasts. We have partnered with Point To Point Marketing, who share our belief that media brands are strongest when insights inform strategy and marketing supports that strategy.
We hope you can join us at Podcast Movement, August 18-21 in Dallas, followed by a webinar series in September where dig into the findings in even more detail.
